Education System in NZ :
A bachelor’s degree in the country typically takes three years, and students can get an Honors degree after another year of study. Candidates can pursue a Master’s degree after completing their bachelor’s. Doctoral studies require either a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with Honors.
There are 10 levels of study in New Zealand schools and universities. The lowest level is a certificate and the highest is a doctoral degree.

Accommodation and Living Expenses :
Most higher educational institutions in the country have Halls of Residence. Rooms are available on a single or twin-sharing basis. Facilities such as laundry, lounge room, and dining hall are also available. Halls of residences provide a safe and secure environment and are generally available in the range of NZ$200 a week. Home stay accommodations are also available. In these types of accommodations, students get to live with a family in a residential house. Flats/independent accommodations are also available; these include one-bed room apartments to 4-5 bedroom flats. A prefixed amount has to be paid to the landlord before one can move in. This amount known as bond is the advance rent of 2-4 weeks, and is refundable. The total cost depends on each student spending habits. However a student should be able to live in New Zealand for a total cost of living NZ$15,000 a year including accommodation, transport and entertainment.
Work Prospects :
All International students are allowed to work for 20 hours part-time per week, during college days and full-time during vacations, for the permitted duration of stay in New Zealand. New Zealand is the only country that provides a one-year job search visa, regardless of the course pursued by a student. Once you get a job, you can apply for two years of work permit, following which you can apply for permanent residency.
